Windhoek, Namibia – October 2025 — The National Youth Council of Namibia (NYC) continues to make remarkable strides in advancing youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community development across the nation.
In a significant move to support grassroots initiatives, the Council recently disbursed a total of N$3,305,000 to the 14 Regional and 121 Constituency Youth Forums under the Regional and Constituency Youth Forums Fund Initiative. Each Regional Youth Forum received N$20,000, while each Constituency Youth Forum received N$25,000 to finance youth-led projects that drive innovation and local impact.
Speaking at the official handover ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture, Hon. Dino Balloti, underscored the importance of accountability and sustainability in managing public funds.
“This money needs to be utilised justifiably and be accounted for. If well managed, it will continue to grow,”
said Hon. Balloti, encouraging youth leaders to seize the opportunity and create lasting value within their communities.
The Fund represents NYC’s commitment to empowering young Namibians through direct financial support for community-driven initiatives. By equipping Regional and Constituency Youth Forums with resources, the Council aims to foster entrepreneurship, promote innovation, and strengthen civic participation among young people across the country.
This initiative is part of NYC’s broader mission to ensure that every young person regardless of their background or region — has access to the tools, opportunities, and networks needed to contribute meaningfully to Namibia’s socio-economic growth.
