Empowering Namibian Youth

Community Development and Engagement

Engaging and building the community through the youth

Mandate

The National Youth Council of Namibia (NYC) is a youth development organisation established in 1994 and enacted as an entity through Act No. 3 of 2009 by the Parliament of the Republic of Namibia. The Council serves as the umbrella body representing youth organisations across Namibia and acts as a bridge between young people and national decision-making structures.

  • Youth Empowerment & Development We design and implement programmes that build the skills, confidence, and capacity of young Namibians to become active participants in their communities and the national economy.
  • Policy Advocacy The Council represents the collective voice of youth in national policy formulation and implementation, ensuring that young people’s perspectives are reflected in key development agendas.
  • Through training, mentorship, and youth assemblies, we nurture responsible leadership and civic participation among the youth to promote good governance and accountability.
